Valet Network

Privacy Policy

How we collect, use, and protect information about you and your vehicle.

Last updated: May 7, 2026

What we collect

We collect the minimum needed to run a valet service safely.

Account data: name, email, phone, payment method, profile photo if you add one.

Location data: your pickup and drop-off coordinates while you are using the app, and your device's location when a request is active. We don't continuously track you in the background.

Vehicle data: make, model, license plate, photos taken at handoff and return, GPS coordinates of where the vehicle is parked while in our care.

Identity data: if you choose to verify your identity (and for drivers always), we collect documents and run third-party background checks via Certn.

Communications: in-app chat, OTP codes, support emails.

Usage data: device type, OS, app version, crash logs, basic analytics.

How we use it

Operate the service — match you with a valet, route them to your curb, photograph and store your vehicle, return it.

Process payments through Stripe and issue receipts.

Verify identity for drivers and (optionally) for customers via Certn.

Send service messages — request status, OTPs, receipts, retrieval reminders.

Keep the service safe — fraud detection, dispute resolution, evidence in case of damage claims.

Improve the product — anonymous analytics, crash logs, feature usage.

Who we share data with

We don't sell your data.

We share what's necessary with service providers operating on our behalf:

Stripe — payment processing.

Firebase (Google) — authentication, hosting, push notifications, app analytics.

Apple — App Store distribution and push notifications on iOS.

Resend — transactional email.

Certn — background and identity verification.

Storage providers — encrypted file storage for vehicle photos and documents.

We may share information with law enforcement if required by valid legal process or to protect against imminent harm.

How long we keep it

Account data: until you delete your account, then deleted within 30 days.

Vehicle photos: 90 days after the trip closes, then deleted unless tied to an open dispute or claim.

Trip and payment records: kept for the period required by tax and accounting law (typically 7 years in NY).

Background-check results: retained per Certn's policy and applicable employment law.

How we protect it

Data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Data at rest in our databases and storage is encrypted.

Access to production systems is restricted to authorized personnel and gated by SSO with hardware-key MFA.

Driver background checks happen before keys ever change hands.

If a breach affecting your data occurs, we'll notify you and the appropriate authorities as required by law.

Your rights

You can:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you.

Correct — fix inaccuracies in your account.

Delete — close your account and have personal data removed (subject to legal retention).

Export — request your trip history in a machine-readable format.

Object — opt out of non-essential analytics.

Email rishi@valetnyc.co with your request. We respond within 30 days.

Children

Valet Network is for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

When we make material changes we'll notify you in the app and via email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. The 'Last updated' date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
